MESSAGE NOTES

Today's Message: Prince of Peace | Bob Hasty

This month we are in a message series called PREPARING FOR THE PROMISE. Stay caught up on this series by following the PREPARING FOR THE PROMISE message series playlist on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrEv__Oj59QfbGZbRGw7RdhtN6VlO7dMs

Isaiah 9:6-7 (New King James Version)
6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Old Testament peace refers to... the absence of hostility and reconciled relationship with God.
New Testament peace refers to... completeness, security, tranquility, deliverance, wholeness, the idea of being intact, and the state of being free from distress.

"Jesus owns chaos. He commands order in it. Chaos submits to him." - Bob Hasty

Reflection Questions:
  1. Do you really want peace?
  2. How far will you go to get peace?
  3. What is Jesus asking you to do now?
