About the Rock of Roseville

Disciple leaders that transform culture
(Matt 28)

Welcome to the Rock! We are so honored that you want to know more of our heart here.
We love Jesus and all he stands for!
We believe Christianity was never intended to be a religion, but a reflection of whom Jesus is.

We at the Rock have three core values; Identity, Community and Mission.
We have seen these three values flourish through discipleship just as Jesus models in the Bible.
He lovingly called those who believed in Him to walk the way He did, speak the way He did, and do what He did... to see a culture transformed.

It is our desire to work as a family, in equipping everyone at the Rock be so confident in whom they are as a son and daughter of God that they then can compassionately disciple others. Let's use creative ways of effectively influencing and transforming the areas in culture we are a part of and passionate about, be it, business arenas, the arts, our homes, politics or education.

The Rock Values

Identity

Being and Becoming
(1 Peter 2:9)

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

From the beginning of time, we were given an identity; we were created in the image of God. When we begin to know our creator, we begin to know who we are. God is love, so we are loved. He is omnipresent, so we are never alone. He is our Provider, so we will be provided for. We have to know who’s we are before we can know who we are.
We desire to fearlessly pursue our true identity in Christ, our original design, who we really are. It is not something that we have to strive to become, but simply something for us to be.

We would love to stand alongside you, as you become who God has created you to be while loving you exactly as you are.

Community

Being a Family Beyond a Building
(Acts 2:42-47)

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.  And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”

We believe that the lives of the disciples demonstrate that the Church is a people, not a place. Because of this, we desire to be a family beyond the building, eating, praying, and living life together, just as God intended. We want to be a family that shares our homes, possessions, food, and money with one another. We desire to be a people who are known by the way we love.

Mission

Serving Locally and Globally,
Being His Kingdom Come
(Matthew 20:28)

“even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
As Jesus went out, He was actively meeting people where they were. He loved people by stopping for them, encouraging them, praying with them, and ultimately by giving Himself away. We believe that Jesus has called us to do the same; to be missionaries in our place of influence, representing Him well. It is our desire that we not live focused solely on ourselves, but have open eyes and hearts to see and know what Holy Spirit is saying about the people we are passing by. Rather, we desire to actively pursue the heart of Jesus for the people around us, at our schools, businesses, local stores, on our streets, right next door or across the ocean by following Jesus wherever He leads and serving whoever is in front of us.

In a world plagued by the loss of hope & consumed with self, we focus on Jesus, who has shown us what real love is.

We live in an age where there’s a religion for every day of the week, where celebrities define our country’s ideals, & where “truth” is almost a bad word. Yet we have seen a glimpse of heaven & seen amazing things here on Earth as we place our faith in the Creator of all things.
